April 26th: Robert Lee Morris Studio Visit
Special visit to studio and shop of renowned designer Robert Lee Morris (RLM) in Connecticut. He will lead a tour of his studio which holds his jewelry, sculpture, and large-scale lighting projects and the work of others whom he has championed and objects that have impacted and inspired him throughout his successful career.
The studio will host us to a light buffet, but please pack any water or snacks you may need. This site is a warehouse best explored in very comfortable footwear.
Please fill out the form to attend, you will receive a confirmation email followed by an email with specifc travel arrangement a week in advance of the visit.
This will outing will begin with an early start (approx. 8:00 a.m.).
Getting there:
Option one: Attendees can meet at Grand Central Station at the information desk in the center of the main hall at ground level. From there, we will take the train together (with one transfer,) arriving in Bethel around 9:30 a.m. Those having taken the train will be shuttled by cars to the studio. The return will reverse the journey, with participants arriving back in NYC around 4:00 p.m. Roundtrip train ticket cost will be your only expense.
Option two: You may opt to drive to RLM’s Studio and to take others with you, should you be willing to do so. Please alert the NYSS via email to help coordinate your journey and headcount. There is parking available, and directions will be provided.
